ACE

Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) The description used by the former U.S. Customs Service (now CBP) to identify a program to expand, further integrate and generally modernize its automated systems using more distributed processing than in the current Customs Automated Commercial System (ACS), which “ACE” will displace over time. The various sub-systems and interfaces which CBP uses to manage cargo status, the customs entry process, and export clearances (e.g., AMS, ABI, ACH, and AES) will migrate to this new environment, with a variety of enhancement along the way. The current ACS, now considered a legacy system, will be maintained only to meet urgent requirements and as needed for transition purposes.
